The Hidden Cost of "Having It All"

And how we can build a better balance. By Rose Gibson BabyBeats Founder

In recent years, women have stepped into more powerful roles, leaders, business owners, creators and change makers. We’ve gained autonomy, opportunity and ambition. We’ve evolved.
But as our roles expanded… so did our responsibilities.

Now, many of us are left trying to balance it all:
The career. The kids. The household. The emotional labour. The pressure to show up and perform in every area of life... flawlessly.

And it’s burning us out.

When my children were small, I felt stuck. I’d trained and worked in gyms for years but the moment I factored in childcare, it was like working just to pay someone else to care for my babies.
Emotionally, that felt even harder.

The guilt of wanting more, the heartbreak of leaving them, the internal war between being present and being productive, it all made me feel like I was failing.

Not a full-time mum. Not a full-time earner. Just… torn.

And I know I’m not the only one.

Yes, we can be amazing mothers. Yes, we can build incredible businesses.
But if we’re expected to do it all without meaningful flexibility or shared responsibility?
Then we’re not thriving. We’re surviving.

"Having it all" shouldn’t mean doing it all.

That’s why I started BabyBeats. Not just to help mothers recover, move and bond but to create a business model that supports the whole woman, not just her role as a mum or professional.

We built this franchise with one mission in mind:

To help women design a business that fits into their life, not the other way around.

This isn’t hustle culture dressed up in pastel colours.
It’s a genuine, proven path to freedom, purpose and flexibility, where with drive and dedication you can grow a business and be there for the school runs, the sick days and the sacred moments.

Why It Works

Low overheads — no huge outlays, no pressure to overcommit.
Support every step of the way — marketing, training, mentoring.
You choose your hours — work part-time, full-time, school-time.
Community of women who get it — and will cheer you on, not compete.
Purpose-driven — make an impact in your community while doing work you love.

We need more models that allow women to work, lead, create and mother without sacrificing their sanity.

Franchising with BabyBeats isn’t about slotting into a rigid structure. It’s about building your own rhythm. One that flows with your life. Your family. Your future.

If you've ever whispered “There has to be more than this” you’re right.

And you don’t need to burn out to prove you're capable. You just need a business that actually supports you.
