From Feeling Trapped to Building Freedom

My Journey With BabyBeats

If you’d told me a few years ago that I’d be running a business, leading a team of women across the UK and preparing to launch a book to support new mums, I probably would have laughed (or cried, if I’m honest).

Because back then, I was a fitness instructor and mum who felt completely trapped. Torn between not wanting to leave my children, the constant stress of childcare and the money I was actually bringing in. Every choice felt wrong. If I stayed at work, I felt guilty for not being there for my young family. If I stayed at home, I worried about money and the career I’d worked so hard for.

I was exhausted, frustrated and stuck.

But out of that low point came BabyBeats. What started as a way to bring movement, something for both mums and baby and support to new mums quickly became something so much bigger: a business that gave me freedom. Freedom to plan my work around my children. Freedom to never miss a school play or playdate. Freedom to still do something for me.

And now, I get to share that freedom with others. BabyBeats has grown into a network of incredible women who all wanted the same thing, to work for themselves, to support other mums and to build something around their families instead of against them. Watching our franchisees across the UK change their lives in the same way I did is the most rewarding part of all.

It hasn’t always been easy. I’ve faced setbacks, self-doubt and the ever present mum guilt (don’t we all?). But I’ve learned that being a mum and having a fulfilling career don’t have to be at odds. We deserve both.

That’s why this October I’m launching my book, I’m Fine. It’s a raw, honest, interactive guide for new mums navigating those early, overwhelming years. It’s about breaking down the “I’m fine” mask we all wear and giving women practical tools to actually untangle the noise and confusion of motherhood as well as stories and support.

Because my mission is simple: to empower mums. Whether that’s through a class, a franchise or a book, I want women to know they are not alone and they are capable of creating a life that works for them.

To any mum reading this who feels stuck, torn, or guilty: I see you. I was you. And I promise, there is another way.
